DESCRIPTION:IMPORTANT INFORMATION\nBooking your place is essential so we can prepare materials and make everyone feel welcome. If you’ve booked but can no longer attend\, please let us know as soon as possible so we can offer your place to someone else.  \n \nJoin us for a relaxed and inspiring creative workshop led by Rachel Morley\, who specialises in needle and wet felting. This friendly session is designed to give you the chance to learn directly from an expert in a calm\, supportive and enjoyable environment. Rachel says: “Come along and learn how to create your own felt bead using wool fibres and the needle felting method.  The dry needle felting process uses special felting needles to push and pull the wool fibres together and form a felt bead.  Crafters will have the choice of making a necklace or a bracelet with their unique felt beads and will also be able to combine them with other manmade beads if desired.  A fun creative session and the chance to create some statement jewellery.” For those that don’t want to make jewellery\, you may want to create a hanging decoration instead. \nDuring the three-hour afternoon workshop\, you’ll be gently guided through new techniques\, helping you to build confidence\, develop new skills and enhance your crafting abilities\, all at a comfortable\, unhurried pace and under the watchful eye of your expert tutor. Whether you’re completely new to crafting or looking to expand your creative knowledge\, you’ll feel welcomed\, encouraged and supported every step of the way. \nWe believe that everyone deserves the chance to create\, so complete beginners are not only welcome\, but positively encouraged. DESCRIPTION:This session is part of a 4-week course – Booking covers all 4 dates.Book the full course here\nThe Course\nThis relaxed\, hands-on course will guide you through the process of creating your own beautiful piece of string art\, building skills and confidence week by week. You’ll learn practical techniques\, experiment with patterns and colour\, and finish with a completed artwork to take home. \nAll materials are provided\, and you’ll receive a step-by-step booklet to support you throughout the course and help you continue at home if you wish. \nNo previous experience is needed — just a willingness to have a go and enjoy the process. \n\nWhat we’ll do each week\n1st Week – Getting Started & Practice \n\n\nLearn the basics of string art. \n\n\nPractise hammering nails into a wooden board using circular templates. \n\n\nReceive guidance on nail spacing\, depth\, and technique. \n\n\nExperiment with stringing different patterns. \n\n\nRemove the string and try alternative designs to explore what works. \n\n\nFirst\, build confidence before starting your final piece. \n\n\n \n2nd Week – Exploring Shape\, Colour & Layers \n\n\nWork with a new board and templates. \n\n\nTry more complex designs\, including multi-colour and multi-layer string art. \n\n\nExperiment with different shapes: squares\, stars\, and petal-style forms. \n\n\nOpportunity to paint a larger board for your final project. \n\n\n \n3rd Week – Designing Your Final Piece \n\n\nDevelop your own string art design. \n\n\nCreate a paper template for your design. \n\n\nTransfer the design onto your board. \n\n\nCarefully hammer in the nails. \n\n\nBegin adding string to bring your design to life (time permitting). \n\n\n   \n4th Week – Stringing & Finishing \n\n\nFocus on stringing your final design. \n\n\nBuild up colour\, layers\, and detail. \n\n\nComplete your finished string art piece. \n\n\n \n
