SUMMARY:Saturday Craft Fair — Festival Finale!
DESCRIPTION:A joyful celebration of creativity\, community and all things handmade\nThe final day of the Ilkeston Festival deserves something special so we’re ending the week with a glorious burst of colour\, craft and community spirit! Our Saturday Craft Fair is a warm\, bustling\, laughter‑filled time where makers\, artists and neighbours come together to celebrate creativity in all its forms. \nAnd yes… entry is completely free. \nStep inside and you’ll find tables full of beautiful handmade treasures created by a talented bunch of local crafters and artists\, each with their own style\, story and spark. From textiles to jewellery\, artwork to home décor\, there’s always something unexpected\, something delightful and something you’ll definitely want to take home. \nA fair where people stay … and stay … and stay!\nThere’s a special kind of magic at our fairs. That’s the atmosphere … warm\, friendly\, unhurried and full of connection. \nTea\, cake and cheerful chatter\nIt wouldn’t be an Our Crafty Place fair without tea\, cake and plenty of conversation. Grab a slice\, settle in and enjoy the buzz of a community that genuinely loves being together. \nEven more to explore\nOur shop will also be open\, filled with gorgeous makes from tutors who can’t be with us on the day so you can browse even more handmade goodness! \nWhether you’re hunting for the perfect gift\, treating yourself\, or simply soaking up the atmosphere\, this is the perfect way to round off Festival Week. \nWe can’t wait to celebrate with you.

SUMMARY:Create Vibrant Autumn Trees using Alcohol Ink Pens with Millie Moth Art
DESCRIPTION:Join Our Alcohol Ink Autumn Florals Workshop\nYour tutor\, Karen aka Millie Moth\, is looking forward to welcoming you for a relaxed and inspiring creative session using alcohol ink pens \n\nWhat You’ll Do\n\nBlend rich autumn inks on smooth A5 Yupo paper\nUse alcohol ink brush pens to create flowing\, organic shapes\nExperiment with splash techniques using controlled drips and misting\nBuild layered floral forms through movement\, colour and happy accidents\nFinish a frame‑ready artwork to take home\n\n\nYou Will Explore\n\nColour flow and movement\nCreating depth with blending\nDeveloping your own expressive style\nMindful\, intuitive mark‑making\n\n\nKaren says: \n\nDuring the session\, we’ll be using 91% isopropyl alcohol as part of the painting process. You’ll use it sparingly—dripping a few drops onto your artwork and occasionally spraying a fine mist over the surface. Some people notice the smell (though I’m completely used to it now!)\, and I’ll do my best to keep the room well ventilated if needed.\n\nThere’s also a bit of gentle blowing through a straw involved\, just something to keep in mind if you’re prone to breathlessness or light-headedness. If that sounds tricky\, I can provide a small hand-pump blower as an alternative.\nWhile this technique generally isn’t messy\, alcohol inks can stain clothing. They’re not harmful if they get on your skin—I’ve had more than my fair share of inky fingers over the years!\n\n\n\nThis Workshop Is Perfect For\n\nComplete beginners\nAdults only\nAnyone who loves colour\, nature and expressive art\nPeople wanting to try a new medium in a friendly\, supportive space\nThose looking for a mindful\, calming creative morning\n\nIf you can hold a pen and enjoy experimenting\, you’ll be right at home. Karen will guide you through each step with warmth\, encouragement and plenty of tips. \n\nWhat’s Included\n\nAll alcohol ink materials including brush pens\, Yupo paper and blending tools\nUse of 91% isopropyl alcohol for splash and mist techniques\nA5 artwork to take home\nWarm morning refreshments\nSupportive guidance from a professional artist\n\nYou’ll leave with your finished A5 artwork\, a new skill\, and a sense of calm from this mindful\, expressive process. \n\nWhat to Bring\n• Reading glasses if needed \n• An apron or old top (alcohol inks can stain) \nMost importantly\, bring your curiosity and enjoy the process. \n\nWorkshop Details\nDate: Friday 2nd October \nTime: 10am – 1pm \nArrival: From 9:30am for a warm welcome and a cuppa \nGroup size: Limited to 10 people for a friendly\, supportive atmosphere \n\n\n\n\nCost\n£40 + 86p card fee. This includes all the materials needed to create your artwork and refreshments during the morning. \n\nA Relaxed & Supportive Creative Space\nThis workshop is all about creativity rather than perfection. You’ll have the freedom to experiment\, follow your ideas and enjoy the process of making.
