Hi, I’m Helen, a Modern Calligrapher based in beautiful Derbyshire, and the proud founder of Happy Lettering by H.

I have always been fascinated by the rhythm and flow of letters and the shapes they make. I became intrigued with the world of Modern Calligraphy during the first Covid lockdown in 2020, using the graceful flow of pointed pen work as an opportunity to breathe and take time for myself during the crazy days of home schooling and online teaching.  I find the relaxed pace, the elegant shapes and flourishes provide a sanctuary for calm and creativity to emerge.

I now have a passion for sharing this joyful experience with others through my workshops, guiding beginners in creating their own calm and producing their own calligraphy masterpieces.  I love setting people on the path for continuing this at home, providing everyone with a quality calligraphy kit needed to do so.

Outside of my workshops I am happily busy delivering commissions for pointed pen and watercolour calligraphy, from framed favourite quotes, to personalised stationery and hand engraved items.  Examples of these are on my Facebook page @happyletteringbyh.
