Join Our Upcycled Costume Jewellery Workshop: Kilt Pin & Bangle Makeover
Your tutor, Pippa, is looking forward to welcoming you and sharing a relaxed, creative afternoon of jewellery upcycling; turning forgotten preloved costume jewellery into something unique, wearable and completely your own. Come and redesigning your upcycled costume jewellery into beautiful new pieces with a fresh purpose.
What You’ll Do
- Learn how to safely take apart old costume jewellery
- Experiment with layout and placement to create a brand-new design
- Create your own decorated kilt pin and upcycled bangle
- Use simple jewellery-making tools to shape and assemble your pieces
- Discover how to combine beads, charms and found objects in exciting ways
You Will Explore
- Design ideas and easy layout “hacks” to help your jewellery look balanced
- How to use pliers confidently for jewellery making
- Filing and shaping small elements
- Light hammer work for simple jewellery techniques
- How to make basic jewellery findings, including:
- Jump rings
- Fasteners
- Bead connectors
- Ways to develop your ideas so you can keep making at home
This Workshop is Perfect for
• Complete beginners … Please note: we will be working with small pliers and small components, so this workshop is best suited to those with some fine motor ability. You will not be rushed, there will be plenty of time to work at your own pace.
• Those with a little jewellery-making experience
• Anyone who loves the idea of upcycling and sustainable making
• People who enjoy working with beads, charms and vintage finds
• Anyone who wants to make something personal, meaningful and wearable
No experience is needed, just a willingness to have a go.
Pippa will guide you through each step, offering plenty of one-to-one support and encouragement in a friendly, relaxed setting.

What to Bring
• Reading glasses if needed
• Pieces of costume jewellery, beads, charms, or broken items you are happy to take apart
• Quirky vintage finds or interesting objects (optional)
Most importantly, bring your curiosity and enjoy the process.
Workshop Details
• Time: 1.30pm – 3:30pm
• Arrival: From 1pm for a warm welcome and a cuppa
• Group size: Limited to 8 people for a friendly, supportive atmosphere
Cost
£27.35 + 67p card fee.
This includes all the materials needed to create your upcycled kilt pin and bangle, plus refreshments during the afternoon.
