Join Our Wet Felted Bags, Pouches & Pockets Workshop

Your tutor, Carol, is looking forward to welcoming you and sharing the ancient, tactile craft of 3D wet felting.

What You’ll Do

• Create a seamless felted bag or pouch using a resist and wet felting techniques
• Learn to lay out wool fibres for strong, even felting
• Use warm water, soap and friction to shrink and fuse fibres into a 3D form
• Shape and refine your bag for a smooth, professional finish
• Add optional embellishments such as buttons, beads or threads
• Speedy makers may even complete two projects

You Will Explore

• Different types of fleece and fibres and how they behave
• The origins of felt making and how 3D felting developed
• Using a resist to create a seamless structure
• Designing your own pouch or bag
• Techniques for finishing, shaping and drying your final piece

This Workshop Is Perfect For

• Complete beginners
• Anyone wanting to build confidence in 3D wet felting
• People who enjoy tactile, absorbing craft
• Those who love natural materials and slow‑paced making

No experience is needed. If you can gently rub, roll and apply light pressure, you’ll be absolutely fine. It is fairly physical and so you may go home with aching arms! Carol will guide you through each step with calm, clear demonstrations.

You’ll leave with your own handmade wet‑felted bag or pouch, plus the skills and confidence to continue felting at home.

What to Bring

• Reading glasses if needed
• Your lunch, or money to buy food locally
• A towel
• Special soap if you have allergies or skin sensitivities
• A plastic bag to take your damp creation home

Most importantly, bring your curiosity and enjoy the process.

Workshop Details

• Time: 10am – 4:00pm

• Arrival: From 9:30am for a warm welcome and a cuppa

• Group size: Limited to 8 people for a friendly, supportive atmosphere

Cost

£64.50 + £1.24 card fee. This includes all the materials needed to create your unique wet‑felted bag or pouch and refreshments during the day (excluding lunch).
