
Join Our Upcycled Costume Jewellery Redesign Workshop
Your tutor, Pippa, is looking forward to welcoming you and sharing a creative, hands-on session where you’ll transform your unused costume jewellery into something fresh, stylish and completely unique.
Do you have a stash of costume jewellery you never wear? This workshop is all about giving those forgotten pieces a new lease of life’ through redesign, repair and playful making.
What You’ll Do
- Take apart old, broken or unworn costume jewellery
- Learn how to assess pieces and decide what can be reused
- Redesign and rebuild jewellery into a completely new piece
- Combine beads, charms, lace, ribbon and vintage finds into new designs
- Learn how to assemble jewellery securely so it lasts
You Will Explore
- Basic cold metalworking skills
- Wirework techniques for simple jewellery construction
- Jewellery repair skills and practical making methods
- How to create simple findings, including:
- Jump rings
- Fasteners and connectors
- Design techniques for revising and improving existing pieces
- How to plan and develop designs you can recreate at home
This Workshop is Perfect for
• Complete beginners. No experience is needed. If you can use your hands for small, detailed work, you can take part.
• People with a little jewellery-making experience
• Anyone with a collection of jewellery they don’t wear anymore
• Those who love upcycling, sustainable making and creative reuse
• Anyone who enjoys experimenting with materials and design
Pippa will guide you through each step, offering plenty of support, design advice and practical demonstrations in a relaxed and friendly environment.

You’ll leave with a one-of-a-kind jewellery piece, redesigned and created by you, using your own costume jewellery components.
What to Bring
• Reading glasses if needed
• A selection of costume jewellery (including broken or incomplete items) that you are happy to take apart
• Optional extras: quirky vintage finds, lace, ribbons, beads, charms or found objects
Most importantly, bring your curiosity and enjoy the process.
Please note: the focus of the workshop is on reusing what you bring, so nothing is wasted.
Workshop Details
• Time: 2.00pm – 4:00pm
• Arrival: From 1:30pm for a warm welcome and a cuppa
• Group size: Limited to 8 people for a friendly, supportive atmosphere
Cost
£27.35 + 67p card fee.
This includes all the materials needed to create your upcycled jewellery piece, use of tools and refreshments during the afternoon.
